- What: Apostle Paul’s letter to the church of Phillipi

-Where: Rome
-Why: To live as citizens as God’s Kingdom, and to address the church in Philippi of events Paul, Timothy, and Epaphroditus have experienced

Since Jesus was not directly speaking to anyone in conversation in the book of Philippians, this section will remain as so.

• 4:13 can be taken out of context a lot, and I am guilty of taking it out of context as well. I used to apply this verse to the gym; although it is true that in Christ (because He has given me everything) I can therefore do something… but this verse is in context of things you are actually not able to do. Jesus strengthens us so that we can do things we would not be able to typically do. For example, if we are struggling with a certain area of our lives with sin, the fact we are struggling can infer we’re trying to get victory in our lives by our own strength and not Jesus’ strength. This verse can be paraphrased to say, “I can’t do this one my own, but through God strengthening me, He can do it through me”
