The Book of Exodus 

Overview
- Author:    Moses
- What: Moses’ second book of the Torah; Exodus recalls the events of the Israelites' time in Egypt in bondage under Pharaoh's rule and mirrors the spiritual bondage people are in today. Major events include the back to back battles of the God of Moses and Aaron and the demon gods of Pharaoh, the plagues God struck Egypt with, the exodus out of Egypt (major deliverance), the Passover, and the beginning of the Law as God gives the Israelites the 10 Commandments
-When: 1440 BC?
-Where: Egypt/Desert Wilderness
-Why: To remember the LORD and all He has done, is doing, and will do, to mirror Jesus as our Passover Lamb, deliverance from spiritual bondage is still existing and God can change the scenario (and wants to), and the Moral Law (10 Commandments) used to this very day.

3:2-4:17 = the angel of the LORD speaking to Moses as the LORD
4:13 = Moses refers to the angel of the LORD as Lord
9:20 = word of the LORD
13:1-16 = Jesus is the Firstborn Colossians 1:15-21
13:20-22 = the cloud by day and the fire by night resembles the angle of the LORD going before the Israelites
14:19-20 = angel of the LORD
16:4  = Jesus the Bread from Heaven John 6:51-59
16:10 = glory of the LORD, Hebrews 1:3
17:6 = Jesus is the Rock, the Cornerstone… here Moses strikes the rock and water gushes out, Jesus is pierced on the cross and water runs from His side in John 19:34
19:9 = the LORD spoke to Moses and the people could hear
19:11 = the LORD came down, so as to go up again illustrating the Ascension (Acts 1:9-12)
23:20-23 = angel of the LORD, additionally God says His Name is in the angel of the LORD, and that if the people disobey Him, the angel will not forgive them.
24:10-11 = God of Israel has feet
29:42-46 = God meets and speaks with the Israelites
31:18 = God gave them to Moses… possibly handed them to him? Regardless, God wrote on them with His Finger
32:34 = angel of the LORD goes before them
33:9-11 = Moses would speak to God as one speaks face to face with a friend… not literally, used in a simile
33:14 = Matthew 11:18 Jesus says He would give rest
33:20-23 = Moses saw God’s back

10:1-29 = the same God that has done this, does it in Revelation 9
12:23 = see Revelation 9:11, the same God who grants this grants that
19:18-19 =same God in Revelation 15:8
31:1-3 = distinction between the LORD and the Spirit of God, the same Spirit in 1 Corinthians 12
31:12-17 = God speaking in 3rd person
31:18 = distinction between the LORD and the finger of God
32:13 = Genesis 22:16: the LORD swears to Himself… the LORD also made the Law (Deuteronomy 19:15)  state that a testimony is not valid except for the witness of 2 or 3, then the matter can be established… God couldn’t swear to Himself, by His own law He put in place, UNLESS there were 2 or 3 and not just one.
33:3 = the LORD would not go with them, but God is omnipresent… can only mean that God would be among them
33:20-23 = God let Moses see His back but not His face
35:31 = distinction between the LORD and the Spirit of God

• 29:9 the priesthood of Aaron is a lasting ordinance, HOWEVER Jesus is the high priest in the order of Melchizedek
• 35:30-35 every characteristic God has given us such as art, music, sports, down to our occupation can give glory to God when we use the characteristics for good and specially and purposefully for God
• 33:11 = face to face… look into
