The Book of 1 Timothy 

Overview
- Author:    Apostle Paul
- What: Apostle Paul’s letter to Timothy regarding issues in the church of Ephesus
-When: 62-64 AD
-Where: Macedonia 
-Why: The church of Ephesus was putting themselves under the Law again and Paul communicated this with Timothy to correct them.

Since Jesus was not directly speaking to anyone in conversation in the book of 1 Timothy, this section will remain as so.

The Trinity Shown:
1:1-2 = Father unity with Son
1:14 = context of Acts 9:4-16
1:17 = Jesus is the King Eternal (the good news = gospel)
2:3-5 = Jesus and God
3:15-16 = Jesus and Holy Spirit

Culture/Time:
The book addresses the culture of the early church, and how much of a battle it was to get things straightened out because of worldly influence. God knocks these ideas and practices out of His Church through the letter of Paul.
