The Book of 1 Corinthians

Overview
- Author:    Apostle Paul
- What: Letter to the church of Corinth
-When: 53-55 AD
-Where: Ephesus
-Why: To address divisions in the church of Corinth, and to repent and strengthen the body. Divisions in the early church included sexual immorality, food sacrificed to idols, improper communion, proper worship and spiritual gifts as big topics.

Since Jesus was not directly speaking to anyone in conversation in the book of 1 Corinthians, this section will remain as so.

The Trinity Shown:
1:3-9 = Father unity with Son
2:10-11 = Father Son and Spirit
2:16 = see Isaiah 40:13
3:23 = we are adopted into the God’s family. Jesus, fully God and fully man bridges the gap between God and man so he had to be both. This does not mean we too are God/gods
6:11= Father, Son, Holy Spirit
6:19-20 = Father Son and Holy Spirit
8:6 = Father and Son unity… also how can everything come from the Son if the Son was part of the creation? Shows Jesus is apart from creation just as the Father is
9:21 = Father has His Law, Christ has His Law
10:4 = Christ provided for the Israelites in the wilderness
10:9 = Israelites went against Deuteronomy 6:16 in the wilderness when they put Jesus to the test
10:26 = Psalm 1-5, distinction between the LORD and God their Savior
12:3 = Holy Spirit and Jesus
12:11 = Holy Spirit is God
14:16 = praise the Father and Son through the Spirit because they cannot be separated
14:21 = who gives the Holy Spirit? Jesus
15:23-27 = Father unity with Son
